Description:
Knoxville Zoological Gardens offers an entertaining and unique educational experience for the entire family and guests of all ages. The zoo is situated on 53 rolling acres on the east side of Knoxville.

Attendance:
Annual attendance is over 400,000. In 2007, Knoxville Zoo set an attendance record with 430,088 visitors.

Location:
Off exit 392A from Interstate 40 West. Currently coming from the West, visitors will take I-640 East, and then use I-40 West to exit 392A. From the East, take I-40 West to exit 392A and follow the signs to Knoxville Zoo.

Hours:
From May 26 until September 5, the zoo is open every day from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission and ticket sales stop one-hour before the zoo closes. Next-day admission is free after 3 p.m. Seasonal hours change in September and again in October.

Admission:
$16.95 for adults, $12.95 for children ages 2-12 and seniors 65+. Admission is free for children under 2. Other special rates may apply. Parking is $4. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Group Rates, Memberships & Education: Reduced rates are available for organized groups of 20 or more that register in advance. Various levels of memberships are available to Knoxville Zoo. The education department offers programs for all ages.

Special Features:
The Boyd Family Red Panda Village, Grasslands Africa!, Stokely African Elephant Preserve, Meerkat Lookout, Penguin Rock, Chimp Ridge, The Pridelands, River Otters, Cheetah Savannah, Gorilla Valley and Black Bear Falls are exhibits that mimic the animal’s natural habitats. Visitors will also enjoy the features in Kids Cove, The Night Club and the Barn Loft.  New this Year!  Toadally Frogs and Bloomin’ Butterfly Gardens.

Guest Services:
Knoxville Zoo features plenty of choices for refreshments including full meals available at Safari Grill as well as additional concessions located throughout the zoo. Camel rides are available April through Labor Day. Unique animal-themed gifts are available at the Zoo Shop as well as at gift stands and gift carts. Strollers and wheelchairs are available for rent.
