One of the main goals of Knoxville Zoo is the conservation of natural resources. The Green Team was designed to create, implement and manage the many green practices of Knoxville Zoo. We have had many successes in captive breeding, education, and wildlife reintroduction; and we continue to make strides in these areas. But the Green Team was designed to help monitor resources at the zoo, make suggestions for more efficient use of these resources, and to act as a sounding board for green ideas and troubleshooting. Zoo staff members voluntarily serve on the committee and put its ideas into practice throughout the zoo's operations.
Below is a list of some of the ways Knoxville Zoo conserves resources. Look through the list and see if there are ideas you can use in your home or office.
