Turn on your animal magnetism at the most unique Valentine's
Day event in Knoxville; "Jungle Love", an after-hours event
(for adults only) which celebrates the mating game, takes place on Saturday, February 13 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Knoxville Zoo.
Jungle Love attendees will get the evening started with a happy hour at Penguin Rock, where they will have the chance to meet to Gypsy penguin and hear about the romantic (and dramatic) entanglements that have taken place among the zoo's penguins. Afterwards, it's off to the Pilot Traveling Exhibit Building for heavy hors d'oeuvres, another round of beverages and the evening's feature event, "The Mating Game: Who's In Charge?", a racy presentation about love in the animal world by Kevin Hils, Knoxville Zoo's director of education.
Seating for Jungle Love is limited, and advanced reservations are required. Cost to attend is $35 per person, and includes beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, hors d'oeuvres and entertainment. Reservations can be made by calling Knoxville Zoo at (865) 637-5331 ext. 300 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. All proceeds from Jungle Love go directly to support the animals of Knoxville Zoo.
Guests must be 18 and over to attend Jungle Love. Photo ID required.

Join us for StoryTime at the Zoo in the Log Cabin every Wednesday and Friday at 10:30 a.m. during Penguin Discount Days. It's included as part of your zoo admission, and it's warm and cozy in the Log Cabin regardless of what the weather is like outside. Enjoy a fun animal-themed story and meet an animal visitor, too. And don't forget, zoo admission is half-price now through February 28, 2010. |

Knoxville Zoo is looking for friendly and energetic people who are interested in working for a good cause. Applicants may be 15-years-old for positions in certain areas, but most positions require employees who are 16-years or older. Seasonal and part-time positions are available in gifts, admission, sales, education programs, security, membership, rides and food areas. Weekend and holiday hours are required, but employees will not have to work nights.
To attend Knoxville Zoo’s job fair, visit the Fort Sanders Ranger Station located to the right of the zoo’s front entrance for direction to the job fair. First round interviews will be conducted on the spot for seasonal positions. Some staff hired will begin employment immediately, others may start work on staggered schedules, as required. |
