Craftsman - General Maintenance II
Maintenance and Crafts Department
Craftsman - General Maintenance II is a full-time position (40 hours per week, usually 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., however some flexibility is required). Responsibilities include working with Maintenance and Crafts Manager and zoo staff to accomplish the general maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of facilities including, but not limited to, all equipment, buildings, enclosures and utility systems contained on zoo grounds or used in support of zoo programs, on or off grounds. This person will perform maintenance related tasks, troubleshooting, and diagnosing problems and, with assistance,will determine the most effective way to correct them. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, a minimum of thee years experience in a facility maintenance field, and valid Tennessee drivers license. Prior experience at an established AZA accredited zoological environment is preferred. Basic knowledge of plumbing, painting, and carpentry as well as a self-starter with good communication skills required.
