What: Playing football and tug-of-war

When: Friday, August 1, 12:30 p.m.

Where: Knoxville Zoo elephant yard

Why: Knoxville Zoo elephants Edie and Jana have been trained to throw and kick footballs, and to play tug-of-war with zoo guests throughout this summer. On Friday, August 1 the elephants will challenge the University of Tennessee football players to a test of strength and endurance. These activities serve as enrichment for the elephants and a fun afternoon for the players preparing for the upcoming season.
